Job Overview:
Slack is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Sr. Site Reliability Engineer to join our Business Technology team on a remote, 1-year contract basis. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, performance, and security of Slack's business applications and systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in site reliability engineering, excellent problem-solving skills, and a passion for creating and maintaining scalable, efficient, and resilient infrastructure.
Contract Duration: 1 Year
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategies to monitor, maintain, and improve the reliability, performance, and security of business applications, including CRM, ERP, and other internal systems
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software engineering, business operations, and IT, to identify and prioritize infrastructure improvements, automate processes, and implement best practices
- Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure incidents, providing timely and effective support for end-users
- Design and maintain scalable and resilient infrastructure, leveraging cloud-based technologies, containerization, and automation tools
- Continuously review and optimize infrastructure costs, ensuring efficient resource utilization and cost-effective operations
- Stay current on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to site reliability engineering, incorporating new ideas and approaches as appropriate
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in site reliability engineering, systems administration, or a similar role, with a focus on business applications and systems
- Strong knowledge of cloud-based infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and automation tools (Terraform, Ansible, or Chef)
- Proficiency in programming languages, such as Python, Ruby, or Go, and experience with scripting and automation
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic, remote work environment
