Job Overview:
Slack is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Manager, Software Engineering Quality to lead our quality assurance efforts and ensure the delivery of high-quality software products. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive quality assurance strategies, driving continuous improvement in our software development processes, and leading a team of quality assurance engineers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software quality assurance, excellent leadership and communication skills, and a passion for driving quality and excellence in software development.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the quality assurance team, ensuring alignment with overall project objectives and timelines
- Develop and implement comprehensive quality assurance strategies, including test plans, test cases, and test scripts, leveraging both manual and automated testing methodologies
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software engineering, product management, and design, to identify and prioritize defects, bugs, and areas for improvement
- Monitor and report on key quality metrics, using data-driven insights to optimize testing efforts and drive continuous improvement
- Establish and maintain QA best practices, processes, and tools, ensuring consistent and effective testing across the team
- Hire and develop a team of quality assurance engineers, providing mentorship, coaching, and career development opportunities
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field
- 8+ years of experience in software quality assurance, with at least 2 years in a lead or managerial role, preferably in a fast-paced, high-growth technology company
- Strong knowledge of QA methodologies, tools, and best practices, including both manual and automated testing techniques
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills
- Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
