Laundry-4U is looking for a General Maintenance Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a wide range of building systems and equipment to ensure smooth operations at our laundry facilities and commercial buildings. While some experience with HVAC/AC systems is a plus, the focus will be on performing general maintenance duties, ensuring that the facilities are in top working condition.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform general maintenance and repairs across a variety of systems, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and mechanical equipment.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and troubleshoot issues to ensure minimal disruption to facility operations.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on building systems,including lighting, plumbing fixtures, HVAC units, and electrical systems.
- Replace worn or damaged parts, repair equipment, and ensure all systems are functioning efficiently.
- Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and safety of the building, including performing routine cleaning of equipment and common areas.
- Repair or replace flooring, doors, windows, and other structural elements as needed.
- Perform light carpentry and painting tasks to maintain the overall appearance of the facilities.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company procedures during all maintenance activities.
- Keep detailed records of maintenance performed, including schedules, repairs, and parts replaced.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in general building maintenance, with a solid understanding of basic electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair a variety of systems and equipment, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment, tools, and materials.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
Skills & Qualifications:
- General knowledge of building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical).
- Basic carpentry, painting, and other facility upkeep skills.
- Ability to safely operate power tools and other maintenance equipment.
- Good communication skills to interact with team members and report issues.
- Valid driver’s license with the ability to drive a company vehicle when necessary.
- Previous experience in a similar maintenance role is a plus.
